The First Principle—Unity with Creative Intelligence
All great action begins with a great connection. The first principle of inspired action is to consciously unite yourself with the Creative Intelligence that governs the universe.
All great action begins with a great connection. The first principle of inspired action is to consciously unite yourself with the Creative Intelligence that governs the universe. In simple terms: you and the Creative Power are one. There is no real separation between you and the source of all wisdom, strength, and opportunity. You were born from the Creative Intelligence (some call it God, Spirit, or the Universal Mind), and it lives within you now. To act powerfully, you must know and feel this truth in your depths: the very Mind that moves the stars and brings forth life is working through you.
This is not just a comforting idea but a literal fact of existence. Everything in the universe—every person, object, and situation—is a manifestation of one original Formless Substance, one infinite Intelligent Energy. You are an individualized expression of that One. Like a wave is part of the ocean, you are part of the ocean of Creative Intelligence. Therefore, you are never isolated or alone in your efforts. The ocean’s power is present in each wave; likewise, the Creative Intelligence’s power is fully present at every point, including where you are, and is available to you when you align with it.
Why is unity with Creative Intelligence so vital? Because all the ideas, guidance, and strength you need for inspired action flow from this Source. When you perceive your oneness with the Infinite, you tap into a limitless reservoir of insight and energy. You cease to act merely as a small, unaided individual and begin to act as an instrument of the Universal Mind. Thus, your actions gain a potency far beyond your personal will. Conversely, if you see yourself as separate from the Source, you will feel weak and uncertain—like trying to sail without wind. Unity is the wind in your sails.
The person who truly understands “the Father and I are one” has an unshakable foundation for success. This is not an arrogant belief that you are the source of power, but a humble and joyous realization that the source of all power is working through you. Your mind becomes an inlet to the One Mind, and your hands become instruments of the One Life. When you hold this realization, a calm confidence settles upon you. You know you can never truly lack, because the intelligence that creates worlds is working on your behalf. If you need an idea, Infinite Mind provides it; if you need strength, Universal Energy surges through you.
This principle of unity dissolves fear like sunlight dissolves a shadow. Much of our fear comes from the false belief that we are small, separate beings facing a hostile external world. We feel intimidated only as long as we see the world “out there” as something alien or opposed to us. But remember: the power that is in you is also in the things around you. The Creative Intelligence within you permeates all your circumstances and is moving everything toward your benefit when you work with it (instead of against it). Knowing this—knowing that “God is with me in this”—you can approach each task with boldness. You naturally expect a favorable outcome, because the universe itself is cooperating with your efforts.
How can you practice and deepen this sense of unity? Begin by affirming and acknowledging it frequently in your thoughts. Take moments throughout the day to quietly remind yourself: “I am one with the Divine; the Creative Intelligence is within me and around me, guiding me now.” This is not mere positive thinking but recognition of reality. As you affirm your oneness, genuinely feel it. You might close your eyes and sense that the space around you is alive with a Presence, that your very heartbeat is part of a larger Life. Perhaps contemplate something in nature—a tree or a star—and realize that the same Intelligence sustaining it is flowing through you. Or use prayer or meditation to deepen the awareness, repeating a simple phrase of unity until you feel it. Choose whatever approach helps you truly experience your connection to the Infinite.
Moreover, act as one who is in union with God. In practice, this means expecting and looking for the Creative Intelligence’s subtle guidance as you go about your day. Unity is an active partnership. When you plan your work or tackle a problem, acknowledge that the Supreme Mind is your partner in the task. Ask inwardly for insight and expect to receive it. When you meet others, remember the same One Life is in them—this will guide you to interact with confidence and kindness. And whenever you undertake any action, remind yourself that Infinite Power is working through you, multiplying the effectiveness of your efforts.
As you cultivate this sense of unity, you will begin to notice practical changes. Your intuitive instincts grow stronger and more accurate, because you are listening to the inner voice of the Creative. You may often find yourself in the right place at the right time, as if some coordinating force were arranging events on your behalf (because it is). You will feel a new ease and trust, replacing the strain of thinking you must do everything alone. Taking inspired action becomes natural, because you are habitually attuned to the steady guidance flowing from the Source.
Unity with Creative Intelligence also provides a moral and ethical compass for action. When you know that you are one with the All, you cannot imagine harming or cheating others; to do so would be to harm yourself and cut off your own flow of power. You naturally gravitate toward actions that are creative and beneficial for all involved, because the One Intelligence seeks the good of the whole. This ensures that the inspired actions you take are in harmony with the highest good. In unity, your success and the betterment of the world become one and the same.
Keep in mind that unity is not something you have to attain through long years of effort; it is an existing reality. You are already one with Creative Intelligence - you always have been. The work is simply to realize it, and then to live from that realization. Every doubt or fear you have can be answered by this truth of oneness. If you feel alone and small, remind yourself: “I am one with the All; the Infinite Intelligence is in and around me.” If you think “I don’t know what to do,” affirm: “The all - knowing Mind within me does know, and it will guide me now.” There is no problem that can arise for which the Universal Intelligence lacks an answer. By uniting your mind with that Mind, you make Its guidance available to you at every moment.
This first principle, then, is to consciously link yourself with the Infinite before and during your actions. Know that you are an outlet of the one Creative Life, and act from that center. When you do, you carry a sublime assurance into every activity. You can walk into any meeting, project, or challenge with the quiet certainty that “I do not go alone; the Father within me doeth the work.” This is the mental state from which the greatest deeds in history have been accomplished - a calm certainty that the Divine is with you. Many who have dared greatly and succeeded mightily have done so by trusting the Divine Power within. Make this unity your foundation, and you will move through life with a power, peace, and effectiveness that astonish both yourself and others.
Immediate Action
Start each day with a brief practice of acknowledging your unity with the Creative Intelligence. This could be a simple meditation, prayer, or affirmation such as: “Today, I am one with the Divine Intelligence guiding all my actions.” Observe how this perspective shifts your mindset as you begin your work.
When faced with a decision or problem, pause and remind yourself that the all - knowing Creative Mind is within you. Ask for a clear idea or solution, and then trust the first quiet nudge or insight that arises. Act on that guidance without second - guessing.
In moments of stress or doubt, repeat the truth of unity to yourself. For example: “I am not alone in this - the Infinite Intelligence is with me and in me, helping me now.” Notice how this conscious alignment dispels anxiety and strengthens your resolve to move forward.
