What this site is

Kevin L. Michel - The Library is a reading site for books, chapters, research, audio features, memberships, paid PDF editions, and information about Kevin Michel Performance Coaching. Standard book worlds include a free opening path; deeper online access may require member sign-in.

Information we process

When you browse the public site, we do not ordinarily ask for your name or account details. The site may process ordinary technical information such as IP address, browser type, device data, pages requested, and server logs through our hosting provider, Render.

If you purchase a PDF, membership, coaching service, support item, funding contribution, or bundle, payment is handled by Stripe. Stripe may collect payment details, email address, billing information, phone number where enabled, fraud-prevention data, and transaction records. Book Access stores limited purchase records in Supabase for relevant digital access and membership functions. Coaching payment records may also be reviewed in Stripe for reconciliation, scheduling, and support.

If physical print editions are later enabled, a print order may collect name, email, shipping address, and optionally phone number through Stripe Checkout. Book Access stores limited order and fulfillment records in Supabase, and sends the shipping information to Lulu only so Lulu can print and deliver the ordered copy. Tracking and status updates may also be stored for support and reconciliation.

If you sign in as a member, Supabase Auth processes your email address and secure magic-link session. Book Access uses that email to look up matching membership records created from Stripe checkout.

Coaching inquiries and records

A coaching inquiry, booking, or intake may include your name, email address, phone number, appointment details, preferred session format, the goal you want to address, relevant context, communications, attendance, agreed actions, and limited notes needed to operate the engagement. Do not use a general inquiry or booking form to submit medical records, diagnostic documents, crisis disclosures, or other highly sensitive information.

Coaching records should be kept separate from public Library accounts and limited to what is reasonably needed for service delivery, boundaries, safety, business administration, and legal obligations. Sessions are not recorded without express agreement. Identifiable coaching notes are not intentionally placed into public or general-purpose AI tools as a substitute for secure record handling.

Audio generation

If chapter audio is generated by the private admin system, chapter text may be sent server-side to OpenAI for text to speech generation. Public visitors cannot trigger paid audio generation.

Why we process information

We process data to operate the site, provide reading access, verify memberships and purchases, deliver downloads, respond to inquiries, schedule and provide coaching, maintain agreed action records, protect against abuse, maintain security, resolve support questions, and meet practical business or legal obligations.

Service providers

The site currently uses Render for hosting, Supabase for private storage and database records, Stripe for checkout and payments, Lulu for print-on-demand fulfillment when physical editions are enabled, OpenAI for admin-triggered audio generation, and GitHub for source code hosting and deployment integration. A separate scheduling or intake provider may be used for coaching when configured; its own privacy terms will also apply to information submitted there.

Retention

Purchase, membership, coaching-administration, and fulfillment records are kept only as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, resolve support questions, reconcile payments, document agreements and actions, protect the site or parties involved, and maintain practical business records. Different categories may have different retention periods. Information should not be reused for unrelated marketing without an appropriate basis.
