Restraint and Courage

Meddling

A short Ma’at meditation on meddling, truth, and the discipline of right living.

Meditation XLIII 1 minute read 100 words

Do not poke your nose into every quarrel or secret.
One who grabs a stray dog by the ears invites a bite; so does one who leaps into others’ disputes invite trouble.
Offer advice when asked, not before.
Keep confidence with what is told in trust – gossip is a knife that cuts both speaker and subject.
Mind your own tasks and let others manage theirs unless great harm would follow your silence.
By avoiding meddling, you keep your peace and earn trust.
The quiet bystander often sees more clearly than the noisy interferer.
