Restraint and Courage
Divine Justice
A short Ma’at meditation on divine justice, truth, and the discipline of right living.
Do not be troubled if evildoers prosper for a time.
Their shadows lengthen at evening; night will catch up to them.
The hidden hand of heaven balances the scales when mortals cannot.
An unjust man may sleep on silk, but his dreams are filled with jackals;
a just man may sleep on straw, but his heart rests easy.
Fret not at the delay of justice – the scales of heaven may shift slowly, but they settle true.
In the end, every deed meets its due.
Trust that Ma’at prevails beyond what your eyes can see.
