Restraint and Courage

Courage

A short Ma’at meditation on courage, truth, and the discipline of right living.

Meditation XLIV 1 minute read 112 words

Fear is a shadow that shrinks the heart.
Some fear is natural and keeps us safe; too much fear binds us like a prison.
To live rightly, one must sometimes walk through fear as through a dark tunnel, trusting light ahead.
Courage is not the absence of fear, but action in spite of it.
Call upon Ma’at when your knees tremble – remember the justice and truth you stand for.
Better to fail doing right than to succeed through cowardice.
A lion may sleep in your heart; rouse it when needed.
Each act of courage feeds the soul, and fear flees from a steadfast heart.
