Living Example

Appearances

A short Ma’at meditation on appearances, truth, and the discipline of right living.

Meditation LXXV 1 minute read 114 words

Judge not a person by fine clothes or high position.
A heart of gold may beat under a tattered cloak, and a corrupt spirit may lurk behind a courtier’s smile.
Outer beauty is fleeting; inner goodness is lasting.
The true measure of a human is in their deeds and words, not in their ornaments.
Do not be dazzled by titles or fooled by wealth.
A clay cup holds pure water as well as a golden chalice.
Honor virtue wherever it is found, even in the lowliest place.
See others with Ma’at’s eyes, which peer straight into the heart.
You will find truth often wears humble garb.
