Community

A short Ma’at meditation on community, truth, and the discipline of right living.

Meditation XXXVI 1 minute read 106 words

No one is an island entire of itself.
As villagers join to raise a house, so we need one another.
Offer help freely to your neighbors, and accept help humbly in turn.
Do not isolate yourself in pride or fear.
Sharing burdens makes them lighter; sharing joys makes them brighter.
A community in harmony is like a boat crew rowing in time: their journey is swift and smooth.
Contribute your strength to the common good, and you strengthen yourself as well.
Weave yourself gently into the lives of others, and you will find Ma’at in the bonds between hearts.
