Life & relationships · A BOOK PROPOSAL
A life for the person everyone else depends on
This proposed book would speak to people balancing an aging parent, a child, a partner, a job, or several responsibilities at once. It would make caregiving's practical and emotional workload visible, then explore ways to distribute tasks, request concrete help, preserve relationships, and prepare for handovers. Rather than assuming better organization solves inadequate support, it would examine the limits of individual capacity and the importance of shared plans, respite, and recognition.
The National Alliance for Caregiving and AARP's 2025 research documents the substantial time and complexity involved in family care, including people supporting both adults and children. It gives concrete evidence for treating caregivers' capacity as a shared concern.
