The Final Weighing

The Sage

A short Ma’at meditation on the sage, truth, and the discipline of right living.

Meditation LXXXI 1 minute read 164 words

The sage of Ma’at lives quietly and without strife.
They nurture justice in their heart and need no boast on their lips.
They step aside from credit, letting good deeds be their own reward.
Untroubled by anger and untouched by greed, the sage moves through life like water: gentle and unstoppable.
They give without keeping account, lead without dominating, teach without condescension.

When success comes, they smile and move on; when failure comes, they learn and move on.
In company, they are gracious; in solitude, they are content.
The sage carries Ma’at in their breast as a living flame.
By their presence, the world is made lighter, yet they claim no glory.
They are like a tree giving shade – all benefit, and the tree does not proclaim its virtue.
Empty of ego and full of compassion, the sage lives in harmony with all.
In them, the Way of Ma’at finds its purest expression.
