Grief

A short Ma’at meditation on grief, truth, and the discipline of right living.

Meditation LVII 1 minute read 132 words

Grief comes to all who love – it is the price of having a full heart.
Do not be ashamed of your tears for those you have lost; your tears honor them.
But do not let sorrow become your master.
The dead do not desire endless mourning; they have gone west, awaiting your smile again.
Speak of your loved ones with joy for the time you shared.
By remembering their deeds and speaking their names, you give them life among the living.
Your heart will heal in time, as the lotus closes at night and opens with the sun.
Ma’at teaches that all cycles – death to life, sorrow to hope.
Trust that the sun will rise even after the darkest night of grief.
