Openness
A short Ma’at meditation on openness, truth, and the discipline of right living.
Be not rigid in your thinking – a tree that cannot bend will break in the storm.
Welcome new ideas and even criticism, as the river welcomes tributaries and grows.
Do not cling stubbornly to a course proven unwise; changing course can be wisdom, not weakness.
The ostrich hides its head and sees nothing – do not be like it.
Adapt to new truths as they reveal themselves. Stubborn pride in error serves no one.
Hold your convictions firmly, but not so tightly that they choke out truth.
Adjust your steps to stay in tune with Ma’at.
The wise remain ever a student of the world.
