Homecoming
A short Ma’at meditation on homecoming, truth, and the discipline of right living.
A man fled his homeland when fear overtook him.
In foreign lands he gained wealth and honor, yet each night his dreams were of the river and fields of his youth.
No glory abroad could fill the void in his heart.
At last he returned home, bowing before his rightful lord, and was received with mercy.
Only then did he find the peace that had eluded him.
The heart, like a bird, eventually flies back to where it belongs.
Truth and belonging awaited him where he began.
