Restraint and Courage

Teaching

A short Ma’at meditation on teaching, truth, and the discipline of right living.

Meditation XLIX 1 minute read 110 words

Knowledge is a candle – lighting another’s wick does not dim your own flame.
Share what you know with those who seek wisdom.
A teacher once helped you take your first steps; honor them by guiding another.
Be patient with the student who struggles, for even the mighty oak begins as a tender shoot.
In teaching, you learn; in giving, you receive.
Hide not your wisdom out of jealousy or pride – that is hoarding grain while others starve.
Let your teachings be true and kind, a beacon not a burden.
Thus you keep the flame of Ma’at burning bright through the generations.
