The Cry for Justice
A short Ma’at meditation on the cry for justice, truth, and the discipline of right living.
In a hall of granite and gold, a peasant stood trembling yet unyielding.
He had been robbed by a wicked hand, and no one would hear him.
Day after day, he returned to the gates of the great house; his voice grew hoarse, yet stronger with truth.
The eloquence of the wronged pierced the steward’s heart, and at last the scales were set right.
Do not underestimate the power of a single honest voice.
Ma’at walks with the one who stands up for the right, even when he stands alone.
