Right Relations

Judgment

A short Ma’at meditation on judgment, truth, and the discipline of right living.

Meditation XVIII 1 minute read 87 words

When sitting in judgment, be as an impartial scale.
Listen to all sides before you decide; an answer given before hearing is a misshapen verdict.
Anger and favoritism are weights that tip the balance – remove them.
Let your mind be still and your heart steady.
Judge as you would wish to be judged.
Remember: all stand equal in the Hall of Truth when hearts are weighed.
If you stray from justice now, your own heart will bear the weight later.
